The hotel is clean and impressive with an excellent view of the garden. The staff do an excellent job replenishing food at the breakfast buffet. The location is amazing and marvelous, situated next to a nearby river.

The location in a pretty area was quiet. Plus, it was near a pub down the rd the half way house and the resturant.

The staff was friendly. The room had become a bit old but really nice English and huge. One could observe the rabbits during the super breakfast in the garden.

Staff were all very courteous and helpful, rooms very clean and spacious. Lovely gardens and views across the countryside. Very close to Newbury racecourse which is 15 minutes in a taxi

Hotel was overrun with commercial guests despite me being assured I would find peace and tranquility in which to work when I booked. Dining room was jammed and noisy so I ate in my room both nights. My room overlooked the bar and the park, and noisy commercial guests were outside the bar until way after midnight both nights. An 'It's a knockout' style team bonding competition took place on my second day...complete with microphones and giant bouncy castles...and the accompanying shouting and screaming... Was right under my other window... So I would say definitely not the best hotel experience i've had. But the staff and the food were great!

The room was brand-new and pet-friendly with a separate bathroom containing a shower, hair dryer, and bathrobes. the hotel is conveniently situated near a restaurant with a reasonable menu and a mini shop.

staff very helpful, general cleanliness very good,food very good. my wife suffers from a food alergy ( onoins leeks & garlic) she phoned the hotel and told them about the alery and they were so helpful it made a big difference to our stay. not having to worry if the were any 0nion near the food.

Actually everything was second to none, my next choice again in Newbury. The food was fabulous - a great selection of options. The hotel was set in a remote area near local pubs which had better menu choice and easier on the wallet as well as woodlands where rooms are dated and need of modernisation.
